CHICAGO ...The Windy City. This was my first visit to this city. It was a celebration of my father-in-law's 84th birthday. He was born in this great city. We didn't have a lot of time. Two and half days at best figurin' in the travel time. Departure. Arrival. and all that. And because of this short time span. And because of my "vacation diary" and those eagerly waiting for my entries. Because of these things, I preconceived an image that I could dash off and render on my flights to and from.... and maybe if I didn't get enough time to do any more, this would be enough. It was easy. Chicago is all about "Gangsters and Mrs. O'Leary's cow"....ain't it? Well, in a way, it is! Or at least that's what just about everybody who doesn't know Chicago thinks. So, I illustrated a gangster-cow kicking the infamous lantern that burned Chicago down.
