TITLE:Bette's A Beach MEDIUM: digital SIZE: 7" x 3"
I'm not sure how this happened. I found a very old catalog selling bathing suits. I scanned a photo of a model. I edited and manipulated and painted, digitally. She needed a head. And maybe I had just watched Jezebel or Little Foxes. Or something. And I had young, sexy Bette on my mind. So, a copy of my batik original made it into this digital collage. And even when I thought I was done, I wasn't. Some months later, I decided to add my photo of a Block island, R.I. beach. For a few moments, I thought "Life is a beach." But that didn't last long. No. For Bette's a Beach! Yes.
