"What I did on my vacation to MAINE 2004" ~slatts

My first sketch was this "rough" dash-off ...a real "sketchy-sketch" (in comparison to the others to come)... I'll call these two: The Reason There Is NO TV At The Lake and The Queen of d'Nile Canoe Trip....

I took the op to colorize The Reason There Is NO TV At The Lake....

The inspiration behind this is simple: If you sit and look at this lake for about the time you'd sit yourself in front of the tube, you're gunna see at least four major scene changes... and if clouds are actors and the sun is "the star".... these thespians earn their due... smoke crack or drop acid but you ain't gunna see anything more spectacular than an hour sittin' on the dock at the lake!....

Like I said, The Queen of d'Nile Canoe Trip is a real sketch.... the guy fishin' is my friend Rich, The Queen: MJ and I'm "the creature" at the helm in the back.... I think I'll replace Rich with Jerry Garcia, The Queen will be Kate Hepburn and the boatsman: Dennis Hopper.... when I do this as "final piece of art".....

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATION
Almost ALL the Maine Diary 2004 sketch/illos are done with a NESTLER Techliner 02. The paper is where once again I "cheap-out" with 20# Bond paper -- laser printer paper! Hey, it's handy and surface is "bristol" enuf for me....
